Boundless World is a specialist economics consultancy that helps organisations make data-backed decisions on where and how to grow across Africa and beyond. I founded Boundless World to bring together my experience in economics, strategy and investment into a single platform for research, advisory and thought leadership. My role centres on helping organisations make context-rich strategic decisions that build long-term competitiveness and resilience. As Founder, I lead our research direction, advisory practice and executive facilitation work. I work directly with CEOs, boards and senior leaders to design strategies that align purpose with performance. Each engagement is built on the same principle: clarity begins with context. We start by asking the right questions: where to go, how to go and why to go - using data-driven insight to inform every step. My work involves guiding organisations through market selection, competitive positioning and growth model design. This often includes facilitating strategic off-sites, leading innovation challenges, and developing custom decision frameworks that combine global best practice with local intelligence. Boundless World operates at the intersection of business, economics and social impact. We develop tools that measure competitiveness and inclusion, helping companies understand not only where opportunities lie, but how to capture them sustainably. I also drive collaborations with business schools, development institutions and private-sector partners to turn research into action and evidence into impact. Our vision is to make Boundless World a trusted partner for leaders who want to grow responsibly and contribute meaningfully to the societies they operate in. We believe the most effective strategies are grounded in curiosity, inclusion and the relentless pursuit of context.
As Visiting Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotman School of Management, I taught and collaborated on programmes that explored how strategy, innovation and competitiveness intersect in a rapidly changing global economy. My work at Rotman built on more than two decades of academic and professional experience, bridging economics, finance and strategy. I focused on helping executives and students understand how to design growth strategies that are both context-aware and globally relevant. This role extended the Boundless World philosophy into the classroom, connecting research-led insights with real-world decision-making. Through teaching, mentoring and joint research initiatives, I contributed to Rotman’s commitment to developing leaders who think critically, act responsibly and compete effectively in complex markets. The opportunity to teach in both the African and North American contexts shaped my perspective on what makes strategy work, and how inclusion, curiosity and adaptability drive lasting advantage
As Founding Director of the Centre for African Management and Markets (CAMM) at GIBS, I lead research and partnerships focused on Africa’s competitiveness, development and business innovation. CAMM was established to advance understanding of how African economies and organisations can achieve sustainable growth in a rapidly globalising world. Under my direction, the Centre conducts applied research, builds academic–industry collaborations and develops data-led frameworks for competitiveness and market development. Key initiatives have included studies on country competitiveness, inclusive growth and investment impact across the continent. Our work brings together scholars, business leaders and policymakers to explore how Africa can leverage its diversity, talent and innovation to build enduring prosperity. This role reflects my long-standing commitment to connecting research with practice. Through CAMM, we aim to turn evidence into insight, and insight into action, for the benefit of businesses and societies across Africa.
The Academy of International Business (AIB) is a global network of scholars and practitioners focused on advancing knowledge in international business and cross-border management. As a long-standing member, I contribute to AIB’s mission of promoting impactful research and fostering collaboration among academics and industry leaders. My participation connects my own work on competitiveness, inclusion and market development to the broader international conversation about sustainable global growth. Being part of this community provides valuable perspective on how firms, markets and policies interact across economies and how insight from emerging markets can shape the global understanding of business strategy.
As Professor of Economics and Finance at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), I teach, research and advise on topics that connect economic insight to strategic decision-making. My teaching spans MBA, Executive Education and Custom Programmes, focusing on economics, finance and competitive strategy. I have received multiple awards for teaching excellence and have been involved in curriculum design, faculty development and leadership coaching initiatives. Beyond the classroom, my research and writing examine how markets evolve, how firms create and sustain advantage, and how economic systems influence inclusion and growth. I work with business leaders, policymakers and institutions to translate academic thinking into practical tools for decision-making and policy design. My time at GIBS has reinforced my belief that economics is not an abstract discipline but a practical framework for understanding human and organisational behaviour — a bridge between data, context and choice.
