EPIC-Africa is a start-up filling critical data and capacity gaps in Africa’s philanthropic marketplace to propel civic organizations across the continent to higher standards of performance, accountability, and transparency. • Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders to establish and maintain strong local to global partnerships across the philanthropic ecosystem through fundraising, strategy development, donor outreach, etc. • Developing and building a business model based around key performance indicators and ongoing market research. • Initiating a scoping study of the sector on the local use of – and demand for – appropriate technologies and diagnostics for philanthropy. • Collaborating with developers to design and test a data platform and API of an online map of the civil society sector in Africa. • Growing a team of 20 data experts, storytellers, technology innovators, and research analysts. • Providing consultation services to entities such as, King Baudouin Foundation (KBF), The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) on the topics of capacity assessment, best practice and planning and data analysis. • Developing strategic partnerships with organizations such as Philanthropy University, GlobalGiving, Foundation Center (CANDID), World Bank, Results for Development, Ecobank Foundation, Giving Tuesday, Nonprofit Tech for Good, and iHub Kenya.
