The models are rules based systematic strategies that use ETFs, mutual funds, individual securities and options. Persistent partners with investment advisors to assist them in creating proprietary mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs). Persistent provides protective option-based hedging strategies that work with existing investment portfolios to provide additional income and downside protection. Persistent also manages algorithmic hedge fund programs that seek to achieve attractive risk-adjusted returns with little or no correlation to traditional asset classes. The flagship program is now in its 17th year of operation and was up +25% in 2008, +41% in 2014 and +42% in 2018.
