The present challenge is to serve as manager, mentor, and technical lead to an engineering team as we progress from initial product design to final installation of automated aerospace equipment. This role also includes interfacing with the customer to ensure expectations and project milestones are being met.
As a project engineer I worked on automation equipment for a new wing manufacturing facility. I gained hands on experience with pneumatic controls, metrology equipment such as laser trackers to verify kinematic movement, designed variety of structures using Catia, conducted stress/deflection analysis using ANSYS, and traveled to the UK to install this equipment.
These three summer internships provided firsthand experience in the design and testing of a single engine turboprop, commercial aircraft. Gained experience using multiple CAD programs and various software packages related to testing. Created and modified both engineering drafts and part models which included participating in a variety of design reviews. Served as team member of the Fatigue Program which involved installing strain gauges, calibrating LVDTs, collecting and compiling testing data, and the construction of a test fixture access platform. Served as leader of the test fixture access platform project. Was responsible for CAD design, purchasing, organization, technical support, and construction of this two story platform that provided access to the test article. This platform was successfully completed during the internship in the summer of 09. Also, designed and implemented a product acceptance test plan which involved defining the mechanical requirements to be tested and proactive coordination of the efforts of multiple departments. Have experience in both developing and approving repair dispositions for review by the Materials Review Board. Developed considerable experience in CAD drawings, testing, problem solving, analysis, research, product design, project implantation, and project leadership.
