Having grown Matalan Direct and shaped the e-commerce strategy for Matalan Retail, I took up the position of Head of E-Commerce within Matalan to oversee a period of rapid growth.
Initially, as a founder of Earth Bathrooms, a business later acquired by Matalan to become Matalan Direct - the online home furnishings division of Matalan. With day to day operational responsibility for the business, the business went from startup through a period of rapid growth and to acquisition within 9 months. As well as the rapid online growth of the business, we worked extensively on the launch of the first Matalan Homestore concept bringing both Matalan Direct and Matalan Retail together in a new omnichannel store concept. Alongside the day to day involvement with Matalan Direct, I worked extensively with Matalan Retail to help shape and define their e-commerce strategy as well as delivering tactical omnichannel initiatives across the group including the launch of DPD Pickup and Google Store Tracking across all 220 stores.
