As a Visual Merchandiser inside the Arcadia Group, I helped to plan and create merchandising manuals to go out to stores to assist the merchandising direction in store. I worked with upper management to create solutions for product placement on the retail shop floor to generate sales.
I worked as a Senior Ladies Wear Fashion Buyer with a OTB budget of over $1 million per year. I was responsible for the selection and profit management of ladies wear tops and bottoms categories for over 10 stores across 2 QLD and W.A, in key commercial shopping precincts. Roles included attending showings with key fashion brands, identifying key market trends, and maintaining stock levels to achieve sales targets and profitability.
I worked with the Ladieswear and Accessories design teams to design and develop multi-million dollar products within the youth fashion and surf industry. I travelled frequently overseas on trend forecasting trips and presented ideas key consumer and fashion trends to the team to set the design direction for the season. I worked within talented teams that developed several hundred products per year. During my time at Billabong, our department sales growth was + 300% increase from collection to collection, season to season. I mainly worked using Digital Fashion Illustration Flats to communicate design ideas to our off-shore manufacturers and suppliers. I was frequently involved in Sales meetings with key retail buyers of large retail chains to open channels of communication between design and retail sales performance of product.
