Manager of the design team in charge of a new family of SCSI controllers for PCs, but the project was cancelled in June 1992.
Manager of the firmware development group, responsible for all new NCL SCSI Host Adapters. These AT Bus and Microchannel SCSI controllers complied with the ANSI CAM standard and were completely driven by the onboard BIOS. Later, leading the software design team to develop NCL´s future generation products. Responsibilities included project management for all software and firmware development efforts, and coordination with the hardware team. Being a staff member, involved in product definition and product strategies. NCL filed for “Chapter 11” on September 1991, and went out of business on October 1991.
Developed and designed microcode for Masstor´s system controller. Was involved in the design of Masstor´s high end system M100, which was sold for more than one million dollars. Other projects included the design and integration of the compression option and the upgrade to double density for the M860/M960 systems. These tasks required in-depth knowledge of multitasking operating systems, the Forth language and assembler for high speed control.
Responsibilities included the development of the MMC (Man Machine Communication) software for the SPC-85 telephone exchange. These systems were based on multiple 80386s running under INTEL´s iRMX 386 operating system and Multibus II. The whole development was done on an INTEL 310/System, using PL/M-386 and assembler language. Several VAX-Clusters were used to support the project.
Designed the digital circuitry (8051 based) of an authorization terminal for credit cards, and wrote all the control software in PL/M-51 and assembler on an INTEL MDS development system. This project was successfully completed in eighteen months, and more than 100.000 units were installed in Switzerland alone.
