Barbara Esteves Moore's past jobs
As Director of Communications for St. Cecilia Academy and Overbrook School, both located on The Dominican Campus, I was responsible for developing and managing marketing and communication initiatives to inform both internal and external constituents of the activities and programs of both institutions according to the strategic plan and in alignment with each school’s mission. In July 2013, my position was split into two positions and I remained with Overbrook School. I am currently responsible for all marketing and communications duties related to Overbrook School, including creating all the marketing materials for admissions and all forms of advertising. I am the editor and main writer for the school magazine. I oversee a magazine production team that includes a designer and proofreaders. I also manage internal constituent communications, serve as the webmaster (for the site which I rebuilt in the summer of 2013), handle all social media, media relations, video production and assist admissions with special events. I also run the Overbrook student newspaper.
While on staff at The Tennessean, I was an education reporter, covering news and feature stories in Williamson County for eight years. My experience stretched from school board meeting coverage to advising local high school journalism classes. In the newsroom, I covered Williamson County and Franklin Special School District boards of education writing about such topics as trends in education and happenings in the classroom as well as education policy. I was responsible for weekly news and enterprise stories that ranged from budget cuts and school growth to standardized test results and issues related to No Child Left Behind. In 1999, I helped create a new feature in the newspaper called Every School, Every Day, which I am proud to say ran in the Williamson A.M. section for more than 10 years. The feature was a compilation of news briefs from every school in the county (both public and private). To begin the program, I established contacts at each school with whom I worked closely to gather news each week. In the classroom, I served as an advisor to five local high school journalism classes, coordinating printing of student papers and assisting students with story ideas, AP style, writing, editing and production. I worked rotations on the weekend cop desk, covered the growth and development beat for a summer and wrote countless features and profiles outside of the education beat. As a part of a partnership with NewsChannel 5, I was a regular guest on the Williamson Weekly show.
