My job also requires me to gauge performance using newsroom analytics tools such as Chartbeat, and devise strategies to improve reader engagement. I also play a part in helping the organisation devise new digital products and services for our readers and plan for a web-based future.
Sub-editing, visual production, headline and lede writing for The Age's award-winning iPad app. Also did some HTML and homepage work, drafted process manuals for new recruits to follow, and subsequently moved on to social media duties within The Age. While we were busy running headlines past each other, our iPad baby was named best app/mobile site at the 2015 PANPA Awards.

• Researched, wrote and edited a broad range of popular education materials on development education for use in Ireland, the UK, Zambia and South Africa. Led human rights and development education-themed workshops and seminars. • Represented 80:20 within the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN), as an active member of the EMHRN’s Human Rights Education Working Group. • Worked with a number of vulnerable communities, from inner-city Dublin youth to Aboriginal communities in western Australia and HIV-positive women in western Zambia.
Responsible for: - Devising a questionnaire concerning young people's attitudes towards HIV and AIDS - Identifying and contacting major Zambian NGOs, stakeholders and relevant governmental departments - Negotiating access to schools, orphanages, youth centres and clubs - Delivering 2,000 completed questionnaires across Zambia - Set up and conduct a number of focus group discussions with young Zambians concerning their attitudes towards HIV and AIDS education
