Responsibilities: •Design and development of Superdry Outerwear – from initial product conception, through to SMS and bulk production, working to the four season calendar •Ownership of multiple categories, including Padded, Casual and Formal Outerwear •Lead designer on fully technical, multi-product Superdry ski range •Creating new and innovative products alongside updating core ranges and best selling styles •Working closely with buying and merchandising teams to produce range plans with clear product price architecture, procuring the latest sales feedback to continually inform range development •Planning whole range against option framework, with a seasonal average of 250 styles, ensuring all business requirements are met by designs •Managing my team of Assistant and Trainee Designer, overseeing their work to ensure cohesive range across all categories whilst motivating and encouraging their professional development •Creating seasonal design direction including collection inspiration, colour palettes and key new fabrics/ trim development through detailed trend research, international shopping trips and attending trade shows such as Premiere Vision, Texworld and ISPO •Detailed creation of product sketches, spec sheets and design tech packs •Effective time management, both my own and my teams, adhering to critical path and making sure deadlines are met by prioritising tasks •Working collaboratively with suppliers and factories daily to achieve the best product •Seasonal product development trips to HK, China and India briefing in styles to suppliers and developing prototypes •Confident in presenting to CEO and executive board members each season •Work in close partnership with Garment Tech to ensure all garments fit correctly and any construction issues are resolved •Complete ownership of SS17 Women’s Sport Collection, from design concept through to production
