Bharat was responsible for the company’s information technology and digital strategic direction with a focus on cyber security capabilities maturity through effective engagement with HII’s executive and division leadership teams. Amin established the cybersecurity and IT vision, mission, values and defined the strategy and plan for a modern enterprise services approach to sustain the goals and objectives of HII for years to come under the Digital Defense Modernization Program. Promoted from Manager of Information Systems in 1987 to manage the IS staff of up to 13 employees in application development and computer operations with three shift coverage (AS/400, RS/6000 UNIX systems, and IBM LAN server) that supported over 200 users. Responsible for developing components warehouse picking system, Autofax material release system, finished goods serial number tracking system using RF frequency terminals and various business applications integrated with Data 3 and JDE financials. This effort lowered company's total inventory from over $60 million to $22 million.
