Member of an agile team (hybrid of scrum/kanban). Primary product maintained is a Lucene based (Solr) search web application running in Tomcat with a front end built using the Tapestry framework and backed by both Oracle and Postgresql databases. Responsibilities for this product have included: * Migrating from ant based build tools to Maven. * Updating automated test processes to utilize docker images for rapid deployment. * Migrating from a JBoss 5 setup down to a non Java-EE based Tomcat deployment structure. * Managing and performing version upgrades in 3rd party dependencies such as Hibernate, Spring, Quartz, Liquibase, etc. * Converting from SOAP based web services to more modern REST standards. Other responsibilities have included: * Designing and building a high performance, Couchbase backed academic reading list product. * Maintaining and updating over 15 individual web applications - tomcat based with MySql databases. * Training and mentoring new team members * Coordinating team development resources between multiple products * Providing main Engineering support to our customer support team.
