Jupiter Aluminum Corporation is an aluminum mill and provides mill finish and painted coils. The company was founded in 1992 by Dietrich M. Gross and is privately owned. Jupiter Aluminum is 100% scrap based and produces essentially 3000 series alloys. The company serves mainly the Building and Construction markets, but also supplies Service Centers and Federal and State Governmental agencies. Jupiter Aluminum is a major employer in northern Indiana and has grown substantially since 1992. Located on 25 acres and with more than 600,000 square feet under one roof, the company has emerged as a significant actor in the Building and Construction market. The company also runs multiple paint lines along with being a key supplier to the Aluminum market. As Chief Engineer reporting to the President of the company I led all maintenance, engineering and multiple special projects and initiatives in the company. I led the financial management of all capital expenditures including risk and insurance planning. Directed greenfield and brownfield construction projects including under a crisis mode with the rebuild of the main rolling plant after a devastating fire. I managed professional and engineering staff along with leading quality improvement initiatives to meet customer requirements.
