Brittany Whitenack's past jobs
As the founder & former strategic leader of the Antique Candle Co.® brand & team, I was responsible for overseeing a safe, productive manufacturing candle making operation. In addition, I strengthened and maintained strong candle friend relationships via our marketing initiatives primarily through social media and our loyal email friend list. Over the course of 10 years, I built a marketing team to consistently establish strong friendships with 190,000+ retail customers and 600+ wholesale stockists annually, the shipping team sent 3,000+ candles each day to candle friends in the US & Canada. I've grew Antique Candle Co.® from an operation in my own kitchen producing 20 candles a day to a full scale manufacturing facility with operational capacity to produce 5,000+ candles per day. Under my tenure as CEO, we provided 167 jobs to Lafayette, Indiana with an economic uplift of $30M+. I found personal joy in developing teams and creating a fast, fun, and friendly environment each day!
As an Executive team Leader - Guest Experience, I was responsible for ensuring a positive retail shopping experience for our Target guests. The Warrenville, IL Super Target generated $63 million in annual sales and I was the Leader on Duty during 2 of my 5 shifts per week. This included overseeing the productivity of 120+ team members, responding to emergency situations, de-escalating customer complaints, and engaging and inspiring the team throughout the day via in person or walkie talkie communications! I personally found joy in leading the new Target Initiative roll out at our Super Target store: "Vibe Moments". This initiative prioritized the conversation and interactions each team member had with a Target shopping guest. I led daily huddles with the team and encouraged them to share their "Vibe Moments" corporately and with each other. Team members started sharing their moments on the walkie talkie for all their coworkers to hear. It was AMAZING to hear the positive feedback & encouragement a team member would receive from sharing a "Vibe Moment". At Target, I learned how to manage a large team in a big box store environment which included hiring, onboarding, coaching, and terminations. Brand experience was paramount for the Target brand - visuals, presentation, cleanliness, and a positive customer experience all support the overall goal of driving revenue.
As a Student Librarian for Purdue University, I assisted patrons with online databases, book location, journals, and other media issues. I usually worked at the circulation desk or acted an assistant to the licenses Librarians in the Physics Department.
