The role is to improve yield output through analysing and improving the various areas of production. I initially carried out a thorough investigation of the production and management process to understand the possible areas that required improvement. A report detailing the findings and possible recommendations have been created with actions assigned to various areas of the business. As with most roles I have undertaken in this area of work, it requires working closely and communicating effectively with all levels of the business.

Reliability Engineer / Process Improvement & Optimisation Specialist The role consisted of in-depth investigation, analysis and problem solving of issues relating to line performance and productivity. The remit of this role was to improve product output in terms of both tonnage per week as well as number of packs per minute. This was achieved by looking at all possible factors responsible for limiting productivity as well as introducing key improvements. During this 2 month period output reached all-time highs 3 weeks running as well as increasing the number of packs per minute by 26%. A vital and significant aspect of this role was working closely and communicating effectively with all levels of the business.

Data analyst consultant in the Banking/Mortgage sector. The role specifically involved working on Redress and Remediation for Coop bank. Duties included excel data analysis and the creation of Batch Packs which detailed requirements for 3rd party partners. Team working and good communication skills were vital to this role as well as autonomous working.

Project: Configuration and data analyst consultant in the Banking / Mortgage sector. Specifically working on Redress and Remediation for a large banking and mortgage provider. This role involves carrying out data configuration and analysis across a variety of product types. Team working and excellent communication as well as the understanding and accurate analysis of complex processes and methodologies is an essential part of this role.

Short term contract. Analysis of data relating to local and global hierarchies in SAP/MDM/Vanguard. Collection and analysis of data from 15 separate teams globally. Managing progress of each and reaching out to stake holders regarding the differing levels of information required from SAP/MDM/Vanguard. Analysis of the data present in Global MDM and advising the global managers where errors have been identified. The role calls for excellent interpersonal/communication skills, organisational skills and an ability to understand complex information quickly.

MAIN AIM: To provide Optimisation of Maintenance and Inspection routines for Industrial and Manufacturing companies, especially HAZARDOUS Industries. At many companies the need to reduce costs as well as downtime from maintenance and inspection activities whilst avoiding breakdowns is vital. I have developed a maintenance methodology to establish an optimisation of maintenance and inspections. The methodology uses risk-based techniques such as delay-time analysis fuzzy logic and Bayesian modelling, this may sound complicated but is relatively straightforward to understand and utilise. The aim of the analysis is to reduce downtime of plant items as well as reduce maintenance and inspection costs. The results of the analysis will inform of the optimum inspection interval based on minimising costs and/or downtime. HUGE BENEFITS: Should the product or process be hazardous, the model can also take into account the possible environmental impact of a failure, measured in terms of cost, both to the company and the environment. Again the results will indicate an optimum inspection interval based on reducing this risk.

My role here was managing one of the work streams for the implementation of new IT software. The role involved visiting various sites and giving the staff and operators an understanding of the scope of the project, highlighting areas which were likely to impact their business area, giving support where needed and putting mitigating plans in place to further reduce overall project risk. Excellent communication skills and tact were needed for this role.

My role here is creating, developing and analysing maintenance activities and strategies for the new FMCG lines (6 lines) at the Port Sunlight site. The role is to optimise new and existing maintenance strategies to bring about cost and downtime reduction as well as improve safety. This involves a thorough understanding of processes in the FMCG environment, identifying troublesome parts or equipment, gathering historical and/or expert judgement and look to improve existing KPI’s. Additionally, to create and provide training where necessary of new or improvement tasks. Good communication is key to this role from management to shop floor operatives.

My role here was managing the safety and reliability part of the business. This involved the scoping and managing of projects ensuring delivery to agree time-scales and costs. Additionally, the role included reliability consultancy whereby reliability work was carried out following a specific customer request. Focused training (company/industry specific) and group training in areas such as FMEA, Weibull and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and software training using the Reliasoft software suite also formed part of the role. I have taken part in several training courses including; - FMEA (presented by Carl Carlson), - Reliasoft MSMT (advanced use of Weibull, RBD, and FTA), - SIS 61508/61511 - Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industry - Train the Trainer 2-day course.
