Continuation of role after being acquired by SolarWinds

As a Lead Software Engineer, I'm ultimately responsible for one of the product delivery teams at SentryOne. This involves technical lead responsibilities (architecture, software design, automated testing, CI/CD, and process improvement) and people responsibilities (mentoring, career coaching, leveling up my teammates). In addition, I work with Product Owners to create user stories and work items for the team so that we know both the what and the why behind new work. As a Lead, some of my bigger accomplishments include: - Overhauling and creating an onboarding process for new hires so that within their first sprint, they know our software methodology and are able to start contributing to our products - Architected and lead our product delivery team to develop a new feature for SentryOne Monitor where we show performance data for your Azure SQL DB resources and delivered it on time and on budget. - Created docs and training resources for the team when we started using a new internal framework, quickly leveling up their skills to start picking up new work - Architected/designed/implemented TempDB performance metric collection for SQL Sentry Portal, collaborating with another delivery team and empowering my team to complete the work on budget and on time.

In this role, I focused on developing software for the SentryOne Plan Explorer product, in particular, updating the Index Analysis View to show additional information about various statistics for tables, columns, and indexes. In addition, I trained other developers on automated testing best practices including both unit and integration testing through various code katas.

As part of the Architecture team, my role is to help developers be more effective through implementation of new technologies, performing code reviews, pairing, and hands-on training.

At InVizion, I develop software for the InVizion Analyzer, a project planning tool that allows users to model different scenarios given different restrictions and constraints to projects. My main responsibility is to work with Quality Assurance, Product Owners, and End Users to determine what problem the End User is having and coming up with a solution for said problem. From there, I communicate with Quality Assurance and End Users to drive requirements and work with Product Owners on estimates.. From a tech perspective, we use C#, SQL Server, and Window Forms and Model-View-Presenter (MVP) for the architecture.. So far, my major accomplishments at InVizion are: - Created a user authentication/permissions framework (allows users to log into the system with a subset of permissions) - Added a settings framework (allows users to change settings for just them or system-wide) - Ability to bulk move projects (allows users to make changes faster)

At InVizion, I develop software for the InVizion Analyzer, a project planning tool that allows users to model different scenarios given different restrictions and constraints to projects. The major part of my job is to ensure that Quality Assurance, Product Owners, and End Users each understand the problem and how software can address the issue. This in turn ensures that I'm solving the right problem. As part of development, I work with a team of developers in the Microsoft stack (C#, SQL Server, Window Forms) while using the Model-View-Presenter architecture. My major accomplishments at InVizion so far are: Created a scriptable installer that works with our Continuous Integration server to create an installer for every build we make, adding in support to have both full installers and evaluation installers created, using design patterns to simplify development, and spearheaded the usage of automated tests in our workflow.

At Daxor, I wrote software for use with the Blood Volume Analyzer (BVA) 100, a medical device that allows doctors to make the right decisions when it comes to patients blood volume. As part of development, I worked with other developers in the Microsoft stack (C#, SQL Server, Windows Presentation Framework, and Windows Communication Framework) while using the Model-View-View-Model (MVVM) architecture). My major accomplishments at Daxor were: introducing Continuous Integration (CI) for our builds to ensure that we didn't regress in functionality, working with a 3rd party to upgrade our hardware platform from Parallel Port to USB, an Android application that allowed users to contact Daxor directly, and an internal tool for generating error messages for our application.

Developed software for the Data Courier and EMFI products, providing tech support for internal users of products Work alongside with Quality Assurance for test plan design and for troubleshooting.

Developed an application using C# and Microsoft SQLServer for checking customers credit scores when applying for a security system.
