When anxiety is lowered, care begins.™ MindfulGarden is a clinically validated behaviour modification platform that has been shown to lower agitation associated with delirium (as measured by RASS) while also lowering the PRN medication use of psychotropic drugs in the ICU by 25%. These results were presented at the invitation of the American Delirium Society AGM in June 2022, with publication to follow later this year. The over prescribing of psychotropic drugs and restraints has become a global healthcare concern because of its association with negative health outcomes including adverse drug events, longer hospitalizations, increased resource allocation, and a greater probability of readmissions and/or cognitive decline when returning home. Described by nurses as ‘the digital crash cart for behaviours,’ MindfulGarden's first standalone HaaS product is positioned as the tool of first reach for front line caregivers -- a biofeedback platform that distracts, engages, and de-escalates by harnessing a patient's own voice, gesture and vital signs, promoting them to self-calm without reliance on drugs and restraints. MindfulGarden is also being developed as a SaaS based platform that can integrate into existing hospital systems and screens. MindfulGarden is pre-commercial with evaluations underway in Canada and the US. The company has two patents pending and regulatory applications are underway in Canada, with the US to follow.
