CEO & Pediatrician Founder/owner 2005-current Pediatric Partners of the Southwest (PPSW), Durango, CO PPSW was physician founded in July 2005 with the mission of providing high-quality, compassionate, and holistic pediatric care to the babies, children and adolescents of the Southwest region. PPSW has grown from a 3 physicians to a 13 provider group that provides regional medical care and hospitalist services to southwest CO with a 50% Medicaid patient panel and 50 PPSW employees. As CEO, I have worked to develop rural pediatric services for our regional community including: more than twenty Children’s Hospital pediatric tele-medicine and rural outreach sub-specialty clinics, (https://www.ppswdurango.com/pediatric-specialists), eight years of PPSW internal tele-medicine visits allowing patients to be seen at home , developed a partnership with Rocky Mountain Health Plans, our Medicaid RAE and CHP+ partner, to develop an thirteen-year old Integrated Behavioral Health Team (https://www.ppswdurango.com/integrated-behavioral-health) , and established PPSW school based health centers including a school based tele-medicine program in the frontier community of Silverton and school based wellness centers at Durango High School and Bayfield K-1 School. (https://www.ppswdurango.com/pediatric-partners-in-the-schools) I have also led efforts in innovation and partnership including grants and partnerships that include the State Innovation Model (SIM) participation , as well as the Johns Hopkins University's Pediatric Integrated Care Collaborative, federally funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, for innovative pediatric practices around the nation that seeks to improve the delivery of behavioral health services through trauma informed care.
