Why list twice? I started the company while living in Pittsburgh. Moved to San Diego in 2010. Adjusted focus along the way, still integrating this profile.... Global Ectropy is a a sole-proprietorship consulting firm focused on Holistic Business Permaculture Management: treating one's business as a production arm in a global ecosystem and managing internal processes in a way that increase planetary health and social wealth It is an experimental zone where those with shared ideals can come together to explore how to manifest the changes we wish to bring about in the business world. Vision: We continually use sustainable and green development practices in order to generate an industrial climate in Africa that is holistic, ecological and sustainable for present and future generations. We also seek to share this experience globally. Mission: to increase sustainability, eco-industry, prosperity, and life. Sample Work Engagements: Coordinated and facilitated an eco-industry workshop in Nairobi on November 20th, 2007. Workshop participants included private and public sector officials as well as NGO (non-governmental organization) representatives. Participants heralded the workshop as a critical first step in shaping an important aspect of Kenya’s economic future. Key area of opportunity: small business partnerships with Western firms focused on sustainable business practices and co-developing new techniques (i.e. able to embrace Kenyan business models).
