Du Pre’s team has a hefty remit, responsible for all PR and internal comms as well as marketing (including POS and store signage). Much of the team’s PR activity surrounds new stores, with 35 opened this year already (including its 450th, in Devon, last month) and its expansion programme is to be accelerated over the next year.
• Lead and develop the retail marketing strategy across 350 stores within the South of England. Create ‘new news’ based on business requirements and customer needs. • Develop a regional strategy for all key retail development schemes across all formats i.e. openings and remodels as well as sales opportunity stores and significant competitor impacts. • Utilising customer insight to develop tailored acquisition and retention marketing campaigns.
• Responsible for developing customer focused external marketing programmes to attract new and retain existing customers across new stores, competitor openings and sales opportunity stores. • Implement effective marketing programmes that address key customer needs, are landed right first time and are clearly communicated to all internal stakeholders. • Effective management of the annual marketing budget totalling £5m - ensuring that all marketing schemes are delivered within budget and provide the best return on investment. • Full accountability for all marketing programmes across the Manchester, Lancashire, Liverpool and North Wales regions - totalling 60 stores.
• Full accountability for the creation and implementation of all Asda Brand, Food and Non-Trading Point of Sale (POS) strategic plans across 375 stores. • Responsible for the Asda Brand strategy and supporting in-store marketing budget of £5m. • Brand management of all in-store marketing activity to ensure a consistent look and feel to all Asda stores that not only drives price perception but also quality perception, ease of shop and where appropriate warm and friendly service. • Day to day management and development of two direct reports.
