I am a Director of Engineering for Twitter Seattle. I am responsible for the storage teams that enable our real-time serving stack. These teams collectively have > 100,000 hosts, manage more than 100PB of data, and hit daily QPS of 70m on single clusters. The teams are: * The Graph Storage team stores trillions of annotated relationships between our big datasets (tweet-tweet, user-tweet, and user-user). aka The Social Graph. * The Blob Storage team stores images, videos, and other assets for both Twitter users and internal teams across internal storage, S3 & GCS. * The distributed Key Value Storage team stores Users, Tweets, and various other datasets including those that are critical to revenue. Our K/V storage has 3 offerings - Read Only for serving offline analytics outputs, Read Write for eventually consistent use cases and Strongly Consistent. * The Distributed Caching team maximizes the ROI tradeoff of latency and cost across many, many use cases at Twitter. The team supports hundreds of managed Memcache and Redis clusters that handle millions of QPS. I'm actively looking to hire Junior, Senior and Staff engineers for all of these teams - we're happy to hire both Remote US and in Eurpoe, with a current concentration in Seattle, San Francisco, & London.

I work on the Managability team for the SQL Server Product.

I was a teaching assistant for 12 quarters primarily for the Intro to Computing class. I also helped to design and debug the curriculum for the beta of the Intro to Programming class when it switched from Pascal to Java.
