As a Technical Sales Associate for Parker, I was to fulfill the training requirements to become a Hydraulic Territory Manager for the industrial market. The first eight months consisted of industrial hydraulic product, technology, and sales training at our corporate headquarters, as well as traveling to various manufacturing divisions throughout Parker. Following the division rotation, I had been assigned a distributor rotation for seven months, of which I was able to gain insight into the business of our main channel of selling. This rotation consisted of several weeks of learning each job function at this distributor, including Warehouse, Pump Build/Repair, Engineering/Manufacturing, Inside Sales, and Outside Sales. Upon completion of the distributor rotation, I will assume the role of a Hydraulic Territory Manager.
Utilized CAD programs (Unigraphics NX and AutoCAD) to prepare clear and accurate detail and assembly drawings in accordance to industry standards. Facilitated interoperability between computer-aided design programs. Prepared basic job and sales order documentation.
Peckham is a nonprofit organization and one of the largest community vocational rehabilitation organizations in Michigan, of which provides job training and competitive employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. For Peckham's apparel manufacturing process, the team created a method to determine per-unit material cutting costs that can be easily implemented across all garments produced by the company. We identified valuable information that will aid Peckham in more accurately benchmarking the current cutting process labor costs to the industry standard cost.
