Leveraged involvement in Above and Beyond biotech startup to co-found and spin out a startup endeavor focused on improved delivery of drugs to the Central Nervous System, including an ALS treatment that has already been used to treat 2 ALS patients. Managed startup operations, negotiations, in-licensing, business development, and financial oversight. * Raised $1.2 million dollars in the pre-seed round, among other things this included creation of all fundraising materials, connecting with privet investors, high net worth individuals and VC companies, creation of Data room to facilitate due diligence, and more. * Co-founded a company, and lead all aspects of the company and formation, including in-licensing IP valued at $8 million, extending the company IP portfolio with continuation patents and Preparation of new patents for submission. Negotiated complex contracts, handled all of the company’s finances, and legal aspects, such as developing corporate structure for the new company and legally incorporated the company. Structured the company’s formation documents and policies, created contracts, investment policies and more. * Committed world-class industry leaders, investors and business experts to participate in the company’s Scientific advisory board, board of directors and work as consultants for the company on equity bases alone. Including Professor Merit Cudkowicz (Harvard and MGH), Professor Nicholas Maragakis (Johns Hopkins) and Professor Jonathan Glass (Emory University). * Participated in the Berkely SkyDeck incubator program and pitch competition * Developed a company budget including pipeline and potential clinical trials in the US and in Australia as well as potential off label treatment of patients in the US * Identified and facilitated collaborations with academic and commercial entities * Led all official company meetings including board of directors and investor meetings
