I started Instant Access in 2006 as a grass roots access rental company catering for the access need of the local market and very quickly built the business to have over 250 units. In 2008 I was requested to take over the heavy equipment sales business for Kharafi National which I did and amalgamating into Instant Access to create a full independent business unit with separate branding, procedures and financial reporting. To date we have over 700 units working in 4 different location and a sale operation that have major international manufactures such as Sany, JLG, CASE, Wacker Neuson, Clark, Maeda Mini Cranes etc. which gross over $45m a year and a year on year growth in profits.
I was the depot manager for the Kuwait for 4-years and built the business into a very profitable operation from scratch. with the following key responsibilities:- Operational control of the Kuwait depot on a day to day basis Market knowledge and awareness to working at height dangers and solutions Customer and business development Financial responsibility to meet target and budget requirements Staff training and development programs Team building
Started as a sales rep for Fife & Tayside in Scotland with Nationwide Access, I quickly developed into the position and became one of the regional top sales reps which allowed our depot to become one of the top performers at the time. After a successful 2-years I was ready for a greater challenge of management and run my own depot. After leaving the military after 12-years I joined Kolfor Plant as a HDC and started learning the ABC of the rental business under a very experienced management team. This gave me an excellent grounding in the fundamentals of the rental business that have allowed me to grow my career to were it is today. following skills learned:- Product knowledge Rental contracts and paperwork discipline Initial sales and customer interface skills Fundamental rental rate pricing and procurement skills
I joined the RAF as logistics specialist and served in many different, difficult countries and environments which gave me an excellent grounding in life and for my career to date.
