As Head of Personal Lines underwriting at Santam, I was responsible for the underwriting profitability management of the entire personal lines portfolio.
I joined MUA to drive the transformation from a motor only insurer to that of a fully fledged personal lines product provider. Today MUA is regarded as a leading insurer of the assets of high net worth individuals in the SA insurance landscape.
This company is my proudest achievement as I was the founder, as well as shareholder and Managing Director at the tender age of 25. My partners included Hannover Re Insurance as majority shareholders and a transition from Standard General Insurance Co, Guardian National and ultimately Santam as risk carriers. My 8 years at Thatch was my "MBA in practice" and shaped me for my future career development.
