Assumed operations of a struggling club in August 2012 that had been deemed “critical” in terms of operations by Anytime Fitness corporate offices and was in danger of losing its franchise rights. Successfully revamped the facility and operations, including the implementation of a profitable personal and group training program, extensive renovations and equipment upgrades, and leveraged the Chamber of Commerce to renew connection with the community, ultimately resulting in a complete turnaround for the business.

Owned and operated four Anytime Fitness franchises in Michigan (Opened the first location in 2007 (Fraser), followed by two locations in 2008 (St Clair Shores and Oxford). Developed detailed business and marketing plans, created financial projections, identified ideal markets, found suitable locations and negotiated building/equipment leases in advance of breaking ground, which was contingent on city approval. Successfully wrote proposal and presented to Fraser City Council and was granted approval to operate a 24-hour fitness “key” club - the first in the Detroit area. Identified opportunities for business continuity among the various locations, capitalizing on the franchise structure. Coached franchisee colleagues on how to optimize their franchise operations by tracking and understanding their financials, building awareness in the marketplace and providing excellent customer service. Provided leadership and ongoing development to three facility managers, which managed a total of 20 part-time staff and personal trainers that helped to build an inclusive, supportive culture in each club. Planned for, hired, trained, coached, reviewed, and released staff members across all locations. Recruited and on-boarded sub-contractors, laying out clear terms and expectations. Adept at conflict resolution among teams/customers/clients. Managed and executed marketing plan, driving membership growth across various market segments. As a result, was recognized as one of the top performing clubs across the franchise system - Awarded the “Club Purple” designation in 2014 for the St Clair Shores location - as well as top honors for customer service at all locations (Based on excellent Net Promoter Score (NPS) numbers).

Originally operating as Roadrunners Upholstery Inc, I sold the Southeast Michigan service area in 2009 to focus on national business development. On a national basis, we provided on-site upholstery services to commercial customers in the health and wellness industries: Fitness Centers, Medical/Dental Offices, Physical Therapy offices and more.
