Corinne Carrey's current jobs
At Heretic believe it or not I was able to step up my olfactory game 1000x. In addition to managing all elements of the production process from ideation to distribution I got to work very intimately with the gifts of Mother Earth. Working with plants to determine what kind of scent would activate a personal and unique sensations has been an absolute joy. I even learned that being able to pick apart the various subtle ingredients in natural materials is a skill that I will take with me forever. Have you ever smelled a Tomato Leaf? Pure heaven. In this role I help Heretic maximize its profit margins and increase its workflow efficiency.
Corinne Carrey's past jobs
I worked closely with the two lovely founders, as I jumped into the world of silk and lace. This job taught me not only the delicacy of lace construction and production but also how to be bold enough to source silk solo in rural Chinese villages (without Google translate). In this position I managed and maintained all facets of production and operations process including material sourcing, tech pack production, projection generation, planning, and COGS, resulting in smooth and efficient workflow. Additionally and fundamentally, I built relationships with over 25 vendors resulting in favorable price negotiation, high quality standards, favorable price/terms/timelines and reliable/consistent supply chains.
As the world was going on about the 2009 recession, I skipped town to live in Bali, Indonesia for a priceless life experience. While living on "The Island of the Gods", I was fortunate to meet and work with some of the most talented artisans. The great silversmiths of Celuk brought my designs to life and into beautiful collections. Working with silver and gold elevated my design and manufacturing skills, which allowed me to become a more wellrounded designer and consultant.
This was the coolest job I ever had! I was poached while working at Wildfox to help design and provide trend forecasts for a Tokyo based company. Sanei brought me to Japan to art direct photoshoots, select fabrics for future collections and be present during the launch of Calidaze. Sadly, the 2009 recession cut this job short.
