Managing Director of an exciting up and coming Lighting company Spectre Lighting. With a vast amount of time in lighting (nearing 25yrs with a leading UK / International brand), the adventure continues with a view to take the next step to head a brand-new lighting brand in the UK. My background and very varied but I have been lucky to be involved in many areas of business and lighting. I hold a strong knowledge and experience within my professional career with previous roles including being on the Board of Directors, Management in Production / Assembly, Technical Support, Customer Service / Support, Lighting Design, Product Strategy / Design / Development, Supplier Negotiation, China Supplier Management, International Sales and more. Lighting has been my profession and passion and huge part of my career and life for over 2 decades and I am looking forward to what the future holds.

At Ansell Lighting I sit on the Board of Directors. I am fortunate to be in a position that has worked with and now oversee several areas of the business assisting with strategic direction to ensure the business continues to grow and make positive improvements. I assist the Board of Directors on specific projects for the Ansell Group to aid our aspirations for business growth and to be the best OEM in the markets we cater for. My role means a significant involvement with Product Design, Product Sourcing, Negotiation, Supplier Engagement and the planning the implementation of our NPD. I guide and oversee the team to push the boundaries of the technology and specification available to keep Ansell at the forefront of product development with an aim to have a market leading product range. I have an extensive experience of the Lighting market in China and have been travelling there consistently since 2010 which comprehensive knowledge of the suppliers, factories, processes and supply chain requirements to supply to any worldwide location. In addition to the above, I oversee our Octo department. The Octo segment of the business deals with smart lighting protocols with an agnostic approach for any smart, wired or wireless system that may compliment Ansell Lighting and its range. With development of our own IP based dashboard to interrogate useful data for any business to assist with Energy Management, Emergency Lighting Compliance and much more. I also have a background and extensive knowledge in lighting, lighting components, technical service and support, specification of Lighting and electrical installation and I have a strong knowledge of the UK lighting market plus much more. Previous experience in all customer facing departments internally including Technical, Customers Service, Lighting Design, Production, Returns and Internal Sales / Order processing teams as well as International Sales for several territories.

My main focus is the primary contact for internal and external partners within our supply chain management for Ansell Lighting. Coupled with the supply chain my role dovetails with product design and re-engineering heading these areas also and with that working with the relevant department to achieve whatever goal is required and pushing the development ahead of the competition. Constantly communicating and negotiating with clients or business associates. Continuously working to strategically expand or improve the company’s procedures, standards, or policies. Improving any current individual product(s) or product range(s) currently offered by Ansell but also looking to improve the Ansell product portfolio with new products that suit the Ansell ethos. I was also the designated person responsible for all internal IT related upgrades and issues.

Heading and managing the Technical team, Production department and Returns department based at Ansell Lighting - Warrington. My roles include advising direct or indirect customers will all technical and product support queries. This can include details and advice around the specification of a product, the installation method, or any other product-related queries. The role also included the constant monitoring of luminaire components, assembly methods and control gear to achieve the best quality possible. Working alongside our in-house product development department team to design, test and specify components for future products to add to the Ansell product range. Other roles include the training internal / external staff members to increase product and lighting knowledge, application / installation methods, luminaire functions / controls and general electrical knowledge.

Working in a team providing technical support to customers such as electrical wholesalers and electrical contractors with any product specification, installation advise and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Working alongside the production department improving products and ensuring compliance to all relevant standards whether the compliance being through its construction, markings, and testing. Working in the production department scheduling production runs for HID, Fluorescent and LED and Emergency luminaires. Products include Electromagnetic, High Frequency (Fixed Output and Dimmable) and Emergency products. Sourcing alternative or new components for existing or new products by reviewing and being in contact with various component suppliers. Working with component suppliers to ensure the correct and latest technology is utilised in the products. Testing all products to BS EN 60598 standards.
