Position: Quality Control Specialist Duties and Responsibilities: The specific responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician shall include but may not be limited to the following: • Comply with all Project Safety Requirements. • Work collaboratively with other Project team members of all disciplines & areas. • Provide support to the Construction Engineering & Document Control teams. • Provide support to Pre-Commissioning / Completions / Turnover group. • Obtain technical input from the appropriate project team member as required. • Research and review practices, specifications, codes & standards and prepare technical reports as required. • Provide Administrative support to Fluor inspectors. • Monitor, prepare & file reports as required using QMS, Microsoft Access, Word, Excel or other specified programs. In this position I have been instrumental in the implementation and development of the Inspection Test Plans we are currently inspecting to on this project and the successful implementation of our Welding Consumable Control program, Welder Qualification, Structural Bolting Inspection and Product Verification programs as well. My duties require me to be well versed in AWS D1.1, ASME, API, ACI, ASTM, AISC, RCSC, and various other codes that my daily activities require. I hold a current CWI and ACI certification as well as Six Sigma and Microsoft Office certifications.
PROVIDE INSPECTION SERVICES FOR A MAJOR PETROCHEMICAL REFINERY IN NORTHWEST INDIANA. STRUCTURAL AND CIVIL INSPECTION ACTIVITIES BEING MY MAIN FOCUS CURRENTLY. As the Structural Quality Lead at the BP Whiting Refinery Modernization Project I oversee all of the structural activities concerned with this project as well as the maintenance of the already existing 100+ year old facility. Organizing and structuring the inspection activities of 3-5 additional inspectors, attend planning meetings and answer directly to the Quality Director on all issues.
Performed all areas of quality control from the actual inspection of structural connections and/or the application of industrial coatings in a petrochemical environment; to the filing of the appropriate forms, so as to ensure that all work conformed to the proper specifications and codes.
