Globally sourced new material suppliers and apparel manufacturers, with a focus on environmental compatibility. Oversaw product development of all trims, fabric, and styles to ensure that product execution met or exceeded design expectations. Managed all tech pack creation, updates and allocation. Negotiated costs with all mills and vendors to hit seasonal margin goals. Created production and delivery plans to establish timely deliveries. In 3 seasons that I worked on the product, increased IMU by 2 points. • Utilized my understanding of construction and aesthetics to greatly improve sampling and production quality so that we could sell to higher end retailers. • Used my sourcing skills to diversify vendor mix, allowing the company to produce styles at much lower minimums. • Established a more environmentally sound materials base to help promote the company’s image.
Before the company filed for bankruptcy in June 2008, created and directed seasonal sourcing strategies for Nau, a design driven outdoor/sportswear manufacturer and retailer focused on sustainability. Built an entirely new sourcing base for the company in Turkey, Europe, and the Americas. Proactively identified, researched, and selected new manufacturing and materials sources in anticipation of shifting product and pricing needs for all genders. Developed and executed production plans to ensure on-time product deliveries. • Because of my knowledge of denim fabrication and finish, was given role as Denim Wash Manager, in which I heightened the look and sophistication of what became one of Nau’s top selling categories. • Created a better factory mix at Nau by developing and implementing a Vendor Scorecard which allowed us to better evaluate suppliers and regions.
