Mr. Nesbitt, the founder of Matrix Composites, holds a BS degree in Ocean Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology. He has been involved in composite materials engineering since 1987, starting with the design and manufacture of the first US DOT certified all composite passenger vehicle. In the early ‘90s, Mr. Nesbitt managed the production of aircraft engine nacelles for DC-8 and B707 aircraft. Matrix Composites was established in 1993 and since that time, Mr. Nesbitt has served as President/CEO with organizational leadership and product development experience. He has extensive experience in developing and implementing engineering solutions using advanced composites materials and processes. He has led numerous teams to successfully develop and implement innovative solutions, encompassing: novel aerospace structures, custom machines and manufacturing equipment, and new manufacturing process methods. Mr. Nesbitt has contributed to the successful execution of numerous programs in support of notable defense and aerospace platforms including Apache, Comanche, V22 Osprey, JASSM, Advanced Gun System (LRLAP), Javelin, USA’s Space Shuttle, F22 Raptor, ADVENT, and the F35 Lighting. Specialties: Business development, applications engineering, engineering management, engineering design & analysis, advanced composites, composite processes including autoclave, resin transfer molding, HiRPMTM, compression and trapped rubber molding, and out-of-autoclave processes. In 2012, Mr. Nesbitt received the Congressional Medal of Merit and was recognized for developing and commercializing novel composite processes which result in improved producibility and affordability for key customers including the US Military and Tier I aerospace manufacturer’s. Mr. Nesbitt is a member of Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE).
