Along with my responsibilities as Head Purchasing for India, I was also India Management Team Member and Category Manager for UV Monomers, Oligomers & Photo Initiators for Asia.

• Implementation and management of sourcing plan for materials and services, negotiation of pricing and all commercial terms for spend. • Demand & Supply planning & defining inventory targets and adherence to the same through Structured S&OP meetings. • Develop the most efficient local transportation model to achieve cross business synergy, best cost and service in shipping, freight forwarding, container handling processes, customs etc. • Development of functional capability within India Operations ensuring implementation of functional improvements best practices, people and organization. • RM cost budgeting and forecasting in conjunction with Global Directors. • Locating and developing alternative sources of supply in India for the benefit of local and international operations and sourcing for global sites from India and South Asian countries. • Local relationship leader for international and domestic suppliers in India managing a team of 13 FTE in the Supply Chain domain.

Sourcing: • Responsible for sourcing all raw materials and packing materials , and deliver significant improvements in cost and quality in all the products • Development and execution of a clear and aggressive purchasing strategy • Through knowledge of key chemical feedstocks including aromatic solvents and crude derivatives. • Interacting with the global purchasing to get the best benefit of the company’s worldwide footprint. • Vendor Management – systematic selection and evaluation procedures and development initiatives. • Target Setting and Monitoring – Annual consolidated purchase plans for all raw materials and packing materials as well as cost, quality and delivery targets. • Developing and implementing systems, controls and procedures . • Sourcing Strategy formulation. • Supplier Relationship management. Warehousing: • Receipt & Issue of Raw Material / PM for production requirement on daily basis. • Managing Warehouses activities in coordination with the C&F Agencies. • Negotiating new Warehousing Contracts • Keeping Warehousing cost within budget. • Monthly reconciliation of stock (Book v/s Physical) • Inventory ageing for SLED / Slow Moving Inventory control Logistics: • Managing transport contracts • Arrangement of vehicles for dispatch of FG through Depot Executives. • Smooth dispatch of the FG to the customers • Reduction of primary and secondary freight.

• Responsible for Purchase Function with the objective of ensuring consistent availability of most suitable, cost effective and sustainable materials (RM / PM) and services (IMS) for production. • Responsible for vendor development, negotiation and contract finalization. • Initiate and implement Cost Chase Data Base project and control IMS spend including Capex. • Net Working Capital improvement by improving Accounts payable. • Implement supplier base management and supplier relationship management for key Raw materials / Packing material. • Support transport and Warehousing department to negotiate and enter into yearly contracts with transporters and optimizing freight cost. • Support Asia Pacific Region in developing Low Cost Country Sourcing from India.

Responsible for the total supply chain activities for two plants namely Fosters and Pals, which includes Procurement, Stores, Inbound Logistics, Dispatches (Outbound Logistics), Outside warehousing. Purchasing of raw materials, packing materials, consumables, spares etc. as per the approved inventory plan & without causing any interruption in the production Negotiating with vendors in fixing price, quantities, credit period, and delivery schedules of the raw materials, packing materials, consumables, spares to the unit. Monitoring stock level of the materials at unit to ensure for the timely ordering and to prevent stock out situations. Maintaining the raw materials cost within budgeted cost & ensuring inventory is within norms. Maintaining miscellaneous income at budgeted levels.

Procurement of Raw (Chemicals) and Packing Material to meet Production Req. at Taloja Site Procurement of Services & MRO items as required. at Taloja Site. Negotiations with Vendors for materials and Services. Initiating cost reduction exercises. MIS reporting to Regional Leadership. Coordination with Global and Area Strategists for Procurement of globally and regionally procured items Setting Inventory levels for RM's and PM's based on criticality of items Ensuring inventory is within norms. Suppliers Performance Evaluation.

Purchase of Chemicals and Dyes for four different units (Plants). Supervising all the activities of a medium size store for our ETP & Power Plant. Raw Material Procurement, Price Forecasting & Planning. Coordination with the user department and suppliers for material sourcing. Cost Optimisation by better negotiation, product substitution and vendor substitution. Coordination with the transporters for smooth logistics function & timely deliveries. Monitoring the inventory levels of Chemicals and dyes for keeping optimum inventories. Vendor Development. Preparing MIS reports.
