PO Box 69 Honeoye Falls NY 14472 hometownherobanners.com Edward P. O'Brien Honeoye Falls--Lima--Mendon--NY Home Town Hero Banners Program Private citizens from the community's of Honeoye Falls-Mendon and Lima have gathered together to Honor the local residents who are currently actively serving in the Armed Forces of the United States. The Home Town Hero Program has taken root in many communities across the country and also in the Rochester area. Anyone actively serving is eligible for a Banner. They must however have graduated from Honeoye Falls Lima Central School District or reside in Honeoye Falls-Mendon and Lima. They do not have to be deployed to be included. The Banners feature a color photograph of the Marine-Soldier-Sailor-Airman-Coast Guard or National Guardsman. Along with branch of service for each, and the community they are from. We would like to have them hung in place of the community banners on patriotic holidays for a period of time, taken down until the next patriotic holiday- for example, Memorial Day, July 4, Veterans Day. We are not asking the Villages or Town's for any funding. We are asking the municipalities permission for the banners to be displayed and their cooperation in hanging them. And we are not asking the family's, of the service men and women for any money. We are raising funds to purchase the Banners through donations. All donations are strictly used to purchase the Banners and are equally shared between the three communities. The Banners will be given to the families when the active duty service man or woman has completed their military service. I also feel that the Banners tie-in and compliment the Veterans of American Legion Post 664, Memorial Wall Project, located at the Cemetery in Honeoye Falls. And the Veterans Memorial located outside of the Village & Town of Lima. Thank You, Ed O'Brien Visit us at www.hometownherobanners.com for Honeoye Falls-Lima-Mendon NY. Volunteer member.
