After 4 years as a member of the COM, I was appointed Chair to oversee the transition of the work of the COM from one Episcopate to the next: 1. Creating a lay formation academy to serve all the congregations in the diocese through leadership training and Episcopal polity and practice courses. 2. Developing a deeper understanding of the various paths from which people come to the COM seeking ordination to better comprehend and serve our ever-changing religious landscape. 3. Redefining and deepening the discernment process for those seeking both ordained and lay leadership opportunities by way of a more expansive introductory session for aspirants and improved communication with parish leadership around the diocese.
