My role is to grow the Flight Centre Travel Group’s business in the Middle East and Africa by monitoring our results and strengthening financial procedures, keeping us ahead of regulatory changes and global trends. As a travel specialist with an accounting background, I test both the operational and strategic direction of the organisation and work closely with the group’s executive management team to ensure the group’s financial integrity and wellbeing. The role requires strong leadership and commercial awareness. I oversee all accounting functions and am tasked with implementing and improving financial procedures, budgeting and building relationships with vendors, and performing the group’s overall financial performance reviews.

General Manager for FCM Travel Solutions South Africa. FCM Travel Solutions is a global brand operating out of 95+ countries and proudly forms part of the Flight Centre Travel Group. As General Manager I was responsible for the overall strategic direction and results of the brand. Key responsibilities include oversight of our sales team, account management teams and overall operations of the business. As General Manager of FCM, I also formed part of the Flight Centre South Africa executive team who oversee the entire operations of Flight Centre South Africa. During my time as General Manager, I successfully tripled the FCM business, delivering record-breaking top and bottom line results. I also successfully implemented an employee share scheme that was the first of its kind within FCTG and a key building block to FCM attaining a Level One BEE Rating. During my time, I successfully built a strong and passionate leadership team that has seen FCM become one of the leading Corporate Travel Management Companies in South Africa.

Responsible for the finance division of Corporate Nation which includes Corporate Traveller and FCm. This includes overseeing the Debtors, Creditors, Invoicing and Accounting teams. Total finance team size - 24 people. Responsibilities include monthly reporting, monthly management packs, budgeting and regular business analysis. I am part of the Corporate Executive team that oversee the entire operations of Corporate Nation. I have also been involved in the set-up and launch of a new legal entity within the group - this involved cash-flow forecasting, regulatory compliance as well as complete end to end process mapping to ensure no interruptions to operations. My role currently provides a good mix between financial responsibilities and operational involvement.

I was a manager on a wide range of audit clients including JSE listed companies, multinationals and government owned entities. I managed various sized audit teams and was responsible for the overall management of the audits. My client base provided me with great experience in various industries and set me up well for my move into corporate.
