Pro bono summer job, consulting to drive e-commerce for social good tailor workshop based in Treviso. The project fuses African diaspora traditions with high end textiles from the Venetian region, as an inclusive not-for-profit brand.
My new job title aligns with our Hearst Europe organization, with the goal of managing newsrooms and ensuring our brands are sound editorial operations across digital channels. Things I did during this segment at Hearst: - Designed and managed the Covid news cycle (crazy stuff) - A large Covid web listening monitor (500K social media items a week), commented by sociologists and semioticians from universities in Milan, Rome, Palermo and Padua. Significant earned media. - A few series of test podcasts published on audio platforms and on our properties as video slideshows. - Yahoo! syndication. - Instagram growth hacking. - Revamped Elle and Cosmo with the newly appointed digital Directors. - Revamped Elle Decor. - A lot of staffing. - Setup a video team on Wochit, we got to 10M monthly streams and generated significant revenue at high margin. - Setup a SEO team on Brightedge with a professional copywriting external service. - Formulated an influencer Insta video product for Cosmopolitan, Cosmo Village. - Supported our events business. - Drafted documents for a few online live event formats that never got greenlighted. - Published an internal style manual for inclusive and solution journalism. Published a crisis reporting manual after the first Covid season. - Approached AR on the commercial side with Snapchat and did some little things on Insta. - Worked with several artificial intelligence platforms for audience insight. - Designed and executed for a couple months a digital acceleration plan on two brands and three tracks. Website audience was at an all time high with over 30 points above an accelerated forecast at last reporting. At the start of summer, the company offered generous packages to all personnel to ease up restructuring. I then considered this a full cycle and decided to free up some space for new things to happen in my life.
I'm top editor for our Italian websites. - Early in 2018, our youngest brand, Esquire, was named best Hearst International website of the year after just a few months of operations (our Elle Decor was also best overall brand). - Q4 2018 to Q2 2019: working on e-commerce, video and audience insights. - Q3 2019: working on new launches, relaunched Cosmopolitan. Early 2020: launched Italian Harper's Bazaar as a distributed multimedia brand, ten days before Italy entered lockdown.
I oversee digital product and marketing in the digital function at HMI in Milan. Reporting to the CDO, I'm in charge of newsroom integration and website development. I'm working at content strategy, analytics, audience development (search and social), video, live events, new formats, shoppable content, platforms, content marketing and traffic acquisition, branded content, audience insight, standards and processes, coaching (100+ journalists trained) and new launches. A complicated and exciting position I'm honored to work in. Having doubled natural website traffic two times in less than two years and more than halved media spend, I'm transitioning in 2017 to a pure editorial role with our websites newsrooms.
Head of digital department at Community Group public relations consultancy. I worked at crisis communication, advocacy, diversity management, internal communications, live events, video, e-commerce, corporate blogging and social media projects.
