Gene Tibbs

Gene concentrates his practice on real estate acquisitions, financings, development, and dispositions with an emphasis on hospitality and multifamily transactions. He has extensive transactional experience in both portfolio and single asset acquisitions and dispositions of commercial, hospitality and multifamily properties and mortgage loans secured by such properties. Gene leads the Commercial Real Estate Transactions and Hospitality practice groups at Asmar Schor and McKenna and regularly represents a wide variety of clients in single asset and portfolio transactions ranging in size from $2 million to over $500 million. He has represented many clients in the acquisition, financing, development, ownership, operation, and disposition of hospitality properties. He has represented purchasers in almost two billion dollars of hotel acquisitions and financings and sellers in over eight hundred million dollars of hotel dispositions. He has represented franchisees with respect to all major hotel brands, and has handled transactions involving franchise and management agreements for both single hotels and portfolios of hotels. Gene’s clients have included leading institutional investors, major real estate developers, REITs, financial lending institutions, municipalities, hotel owners and corporations.
