I have been a Technical Author and Instructional Designer since December 2006. I have an Aeronautical Engineering background having served in the Royal Air Force for over 23 years. As a contractor, I have worked in both the Private and Public sectors and have significant experience in the aeronautical, nuclear and rail industries and have further expanded my knowledge base as a business author with the Metropolitan police. As a technical author for Pennant PLC, initially on a three-month contract, I was contracted by the same company as an Instructional Designer, designing engineering lessons for the Indian, South African and Royal Air Forces, all of which are now being taught in their respective countries. My Security Clearance levels may be obtained on request. Recently contracted to Shade Lagertechnik GmbH who are part of the Aumund Group, utilising BloXedia CMS to produce documentation for bulk material handlers, train wagon tippers (rolling stock), ECO Hoppers and bulk storage stockyards. Formerly contracted to Airbus Helicopters as the senior Technical Author writing and editing documents using Simplified Technical English (STE) for their entire helicopter fleet. This included all aspects of aircraft technical manuals including but not limited to Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Supplementary Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (SAMM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Aircraft Flight Manuals, Service Bulletins and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
