As our name suggests, The Hi-Fi Trader began as a small, predominantly second-hand business in 1991. The business quickly developed a reputation for providing high quality equipment at reasonable prices. With a dedication to customer service and satisfaction, it became one of Sydney's premier Hi-Fi destinations. Before long, the business outgrew its humble premises, and in 1998 The Hi-Fi Trader moved to its current address in cosmopolitan Newtown. In new and larger premises, the business embarked on a campaign to develop Sydney's best affordable product range. Following a fire which damaged the premises in 2008, the store underwent a complete renovation, and two sound lounges were installed.
