Expatriated to lead Unilever Americas' largest dry mix factory that was suffering from years of under investment and coming off of a contentious CBA negotiation & strike. Tasked with rebuilding trust with Union & workforce, restoring Safety & Quality as core values, and driving strategic review of the category & supply chain. Reported to the VP of Supply Chain based in Switzerland and responsible for factory budget of $30M, CAPEX of $4-5M/yr, 280+ employees, 40M cases/yr, $700M sales. Also responsible for satellite Pasta manufacturing site in Harrisburg, PA ($8M/yr budget, 60+ employees) and leading the Dry Savory Regional Virtual Site (RVS), which spanned 8 sites across the Americas. * Developed factory Master plan as key input to long term category strategy and $100M CAPEX approval. * Addressed major gaps in capacity planning and cost management to turnaround service and cost performance. * Drove major improvements to site Allergen Management program and OH&S for dry mix processing. * Effectively managed regulatory (USDA / CFIA) complexities of import / export of goods, including RTE, NRTE, and meat-containing products. * Led factory to first FSSC22000 certification in the company. * Operationalized Unilever's Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) by reducing carbon emissions by over 60%. * Installed demand driven planning methodology (Pull) to achieve a 30% reduction in stocks. * Successfully led site through a major SAP conversion. * Leveraged TPM and the RVS model to drive best practice replication.
