Responsible for generating the best value offering for OSI’s ~800 independent optometry clinics throughout Canada via negotiations with more than 100 accredited suppliers. These negotiations were aimed at generating optimal base pricing and discounts in order to retain and attract members and maintain the industry’s highest overall average base discount. Represented OSI at international trade shows / congresses (Asia, Australia, Europe and USA). Managed OSI’s team of 6 Regional Account Managers to develop client based Marketing programs (2006-2008) • Launched a successful private label ophthalmic lens line (Maestro®). • Managed and marketed a private label contact lens offering (Mediflex®). • Identified and established long-term contacts with two Asian safety eyewear manufacturers and one ophthalmic lens lab following the closure of Securo Vision’s (OSI subsidiary) primary supplier thereby significantly reducing Cost of Goods Sold. • Implemented a B2B program wherein OSI members are able to order ophthalmic lenses directly through OSI’s Optosys© Practice Management Software. • Implemented volume purchase programs with accredited ophthalmic equipment vendors resulting in savings on members’ capital cost purchases. • Established initial contacts and subsequent meetings during international trade shows and developed standing relationships with Australian buying groups to build Best Business Practices.
Responsible for leading a team of 8 employees (Marketing Account Managers and Graphic Artists) in implementing supplier based annual marketing campaigns. In addition, also managed OSI’s team of 6 Regional Account Managers to develop client based Marketing programs (2004-2006). • Spearheaded Opto Plus’ Annual Marketing Plans for a 28-clinic marketing banner in Quebec www.optoplus.ca. • Negotiated with suppliers in order to acquire funding for OSI’s International Summits. • Managed the English content of OSI’s website www.opto.com. • Created departmental employee motivation programs to increase morale.
