Served the better part of nearly eleven years as a Section Chief providing oversight to teams of examiners engaged in carrying out the agency’s regulatory and resolution mandates for large complex financial institutions. As one of the first ten individuals hired into a new group formed by Chairman Sheila Bair, in response to the 2008 financial crisis, I played an important role in staffing and building onsite supervisory programs and teams for nineteen complex universal, investment, and foreign banking institutions. Responsible for presenting critical assessment of complex risks and regulatory matters impacting assigned firms to FDIC senior management. Maintained ongoing dialogue and interaction with senior management teams of complex institutions with specific responsibility to communicate agency views on key risk and policy issues to C-Suite and Board of Directors. Deputy Central Point of Contact for onsite team at large complex banking organization with $2 trillion in assets. Provided oversight to staff involved in risk assessment and monitoring of traditional credit, counterparty credit, and trading risk. Conducted daily correspondence with CRO during crisis peak, provided NY Fed markets group, senior management, and policy arm detailed insight into key market developments impacting firm. Worked on SCAP and other high profile supervisory projects at assigned institution. I wrote the attached email in the days leading up to Lehman’s failure and I think it provides a small porthole view of the storm that we were all trying to navigate at the time. Vice President and Portfolio Manager in Alliance Capital's Fixed Income Department (3 years). Worked on a small team responsible for managing a structured products portfolio that had in excess of $4bn AUM at peak and included CDO's/CLO's and ABCP conduit structures with ABS, MBS, High Yield, Investment Grade, and Emerging Market collateral. Handled a wide range of activities including securities and issuer relative value analysis, liability modeling and cash flow analysis, rating agency relationships, investor relationships, and structuring. Vice President in Treasury group (3 yrs. 8 mos.) handled banking relationships and secured over $3bn in bank financing committments to support a portfolio of structured products. Negotiated bank and bond debt issuance for the partnership.

Worked as an analyst and associate in various investment banking businesses of Barclays De Zoette Wedd Securities (BZW) including structured finance, credit risk, leveraged finance, mergers & acquisitions, and asset securitization.

Worked as an analyst straight out of college in Bear's institutional credit department. Analyzed financial counterparties and set trading limits for repo, fx, and mortgage trading activity.
