Directed the development and growth of a chemical manufacturing startup that produced resin modifying additives for thermoset composites. Visionary that started MITO as a class project and developed it into a small business with five employees leading agile technical and business projects while developing a market and network. • Managed commercial and financial aspects of all grant-awarded projects including $225,000 Small Businesss Innovation Research award from the National Science Foundation and the applications for an additional $1.2M from multiple agencies. • Managed all elements of the product launch process, including development and execution of go-to-market plans for 6 different nanoadditives which were sold to companies that controlled approx. 50% of the market • Identified new market verticals by establishing product value to resin producers and composite manufacturers, innovating the business model and making the available market 10x bigger with less barriers to entry • Successfully presented business opportunity to hundreds of potential investors raising $440,000 in private seed investment and $77,000 cash awards from five prestigious business plan competitions • Communicated expectations with shareholders and team members by monitoring cash flow of a 18 month $665,000 budget, communicating technical progress, and advancing sales efforts as chairwoman of the board • Created cross-cultural team to perform cross-functional job duties for technical, operational, and customer projects, meeting and/or exceeding predetermined KPI’s on time and within budget
