The purpose of the doctoral-level research-based internship was to do an in-depth gap analysis between available and needed professional development resources for community college boards. The finding concluded that the most effective way to maneuver institutional culture is through the top-down approach, and the board of trustees is the key to this solution. Trustees must have the right tools for efficient and effective transformation and progressive evolution of the institution they govern and deliver high-impact value to the districts they serve.
