First and foremost, social media managers have to be impeccable copywriters. With my background in marketing & copywriting, I pride myself on telling a brand's story in a compelling and creative way, which leads to more engagement from key audiences. Another important element of social media is that it's ALWAYS on - which means a social media manager has to be, too. 24/7, I manage social accounts for a variety clients, which includes: - Identifying audiences and unique brand pillars - Creating and maintaining content calendars (I'm a big fan of Google Sheets for real-time collaboration) - Developing and editing content for a variety of platforms - Coordinating with graphic designers to create engaging graphics, GIFs, and videos - Working seamlessly with the client team to produce quick-turn content for timely needs - Monitoring & addressing comments & direct messages - Capitalizing on current trends - Pivoting with the ever-changing nature of social media platforms - Providing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting using Sprout Social I also perform in-house duties with my firm, Sunwest Communications, including creating content for our monthly newsletters (via Mailchimp), writing blogs, and crafting winning award applications for employees and the organization.
