Since its inception, alongside the Head of Creative I have built Weve Source, Weve’s in-house creative team, up to be what it is today: an award-winning, market leading team focusing on mobile creative. Blending together unique creative, first party data and location for highly personalised, relevant and effective campaigns. Turning the creative department into a vital, commercially viable department that has helped drive revenue for itself and Weve. As Creativity and Innovations Manager, I am personally responsible for leading on the development of innovative solutions, such as the creation of MMS+. A new product available to messaging giving the SMS/MMS channel a complete refresh. This development continues to cement messaging as a creative channel that can be used for more than just DR campaigns. Working with display partners such as Celtra to ensure that Weve is at the forefront of innovation and creativity in display. Launching formats such as 360 video banners. Presenting thought leadership pieces at major industry bodies including the IAB and MMA. Educating and inspiring agency/client partners on how best to utilise the mobile's functionalities, particularly through first party data and mobile creative. Working with marketing on creative-led executions including awards, events and marketing communications.
My role varied greatly with the bulk of the experience spent on project research, prop and material resourcing and creative mock-ups.
Responsibilities include working on visual identity, creating an assessment/expansion plan to capture a younger audience and creating a stepping stone program to introduce people to the main business through third parties like YouTube. Produced work for print publishing, assisted with production of videos, generated publicity which involved creating and managing a team, budget and publicity planning in order to send a cupcake into space!
During the internship I gained a better understanding of the agency departments and how they worked together. Focusing heavily on production, I experienced various processes used to bring an idea to completion through organisation, creative input and decision making. I was able to observe the processes of selecting a professional directing team and learned about production organisation from on set visits through to contractual and legal administration. I saw how heavily involved the producer could be throughout the project and how their work positively affected the outcome.
Main responsibilities included managing the gallery setup, task prioritisation and on the spot problem solving. I ensured tasks remained on schedule and resources such as equipment and like manpower were properly utilised.
Responsibilities included lighting, styling, studio setup, client liaison, running errands and managing timetables.
