- Work Experience Here I worked in both the family and criminal departments. Family department - my responsibilities consisted of reading through client case files and then attending private client meetings with the partner; attending a meeting with social services and attending court with a trainee regarding a contact order. Criminal department - analysed a fraudulent tax evasion case and then reported to the managing partner as to my understanding of the case and the obstacles that the defendant faces at trial. I also attended Aylesbury Crown Court and High Wycombe Magistrates Court where I shadowed the firm's solicitors.
Spent the first week preparing cases and attending those hearings at the magistrate court. Spent the second week shadowing a crown prosecutor and helping draft a skeleton argument for a trial concerning GBH.
