Major achievements: • Drove Abivax’ small molecule obefazimod (oral, first-in-class) from non-clinical testing into pivotal, global P3 development. Patient recruitment for the pivotal program in moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (3 global clinical trials in >1200 patients) started in Q3, 22 and finished in Q2, 25. In July 25, Abivax reported stellar safety and efficacy data from the P3 induction trials, which led to an overnight 7X increase of it's share price and a market cap of 4.5 B Euro. Update year end 2025: Abivax’ market cap increased to > 9 B Euro. • Due to its impressive clinical safety and efficacy data, obefazimod holds great promise as an oral treatment not only for ulcerative colitis, but also for other severe and debilitating autoimmune diseases like Crohn’s and RA. • For its unique technology related to the selective downregulation of pro-inflammatory gene expression by a microRNA induced by obefazimod, Abivax won the European Mediscience Award 2020 in the category “Best Technology Award”. This technology is based on the groundbreaking discovery of micro RNA and its role in post-translational gene regulation by Ambros and Ruvkun, for which they received the Nobel Price in Medicine in 2024. Obefazimod is the most advanced development candidate using this technology. • In 2018, based on strong R&D results, the obefazimod development involved a major strategic shift from HIV to chronic inflammatory diseases, with strong support from the Abivax management team and it's BoD.. • Led Abivax’ IPO in June 15 (57.7 M EUR raised), i.e. the largest Biotech IPO on Euronext Paris today. • Led capital market transactions totaling 337 M EUR, plus less dilutive fundings of >100 M EUR. • For its February 2023 130 M Euro financing with top-tier US and European Biotech investors, Abivax received the “ Capital Market Transaction of the Year Award” at the European Mediscience Awards 2023. • On my last day as CEO of Abivax (May 2023), the market cap was 635 M EUR.
