Herman J Schellstede

Mr. Herman J. Schellstede has over fifty-two years in the practice of ocean engineering. Herman J. Schellstede and Associates, Incorporated has providing specialized equipment for the offshore oil and gas industry, Mr. Schellstede has owned and operated two major shipyards, an engineering firm and at present continues as the sole owner of Herman J. Schellstede and Associates, Incorporated, an engineering and development company based in New Iberia, Louisiana. Mr. Schellstede is a co-founder of Wind Energy Systems Technology, LLC that was founded in 2004. The W.E.S.T. company received the first offshore wind lease and has provided an offshore meteorological tower, offshore Galveston, Texas. In 2008 W.E.S.T. joined with Coastal Point Energy to develop offshore wind farms. Coastal Point Energy has received a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer to install a wind power facility offshore Galveston. Mr. Schellstede has been granted sixty-seven U.S. and international patents related to the oil and gas industry and is a registered naval architect and marine engineer. Mr. Schellstede’s undergraduate work at Southwestern Louisiana Institute was in the field of mechanical engineering. Mr. Schellstede is a graduate of the College of St. Joseph’s in Science and Engineering. At this time, Mr. Schellstede’s development company is producing world-class drilling vessels, liftboats, and other marine equipment as well as lateral and radial drilling projects. Mr. Schellstede is active in providing the technical management for the Coastal Point Energy wind turbine facility at Galveston, Texas, U.S.A. MR.
