As a member of the Extended Management Board, I was responsible for leading and expanding the entire Solaris tech organization on a group level. As the head of Technology - Infrastructure & Operations, I led a department of 30 software developers and system engineers and three managers with an annual budget of 9+ million euros, with full people and budget responsibility. I transformed the department from a reactive operations unit into a proactive, agile Platform as a Service engineering organization centered around developer productivity and DevOps culture. I owned the technological PaaS strategy for our data center and AWS product. With my team of managers and tech leads, we drove the product vision and roadmap. As a member of the IT leadership team, I co-led the global engineering strategy for ImmobilienScout24, as well as the group-wide infrastructure strategy for Scout24. We promoted the company in the tech community and built up the brand of a tech company. Key achievements - Turned the department into a modern infrastructure as a service engineering team owning and automating the full infrastructure stack. - Started and finished the complete migration from on-prem datacenter operations to AWS. - Aligned and merged infrastructure approaches and teams on group level in the group merger.
